But enough philosophy; let's look at some freaks!
In your mind, you probably have some concept of how an M&M looks and feels. It is symmetrically round, has a smooth, uninterrupted shell. It is probably much like how they appear in advertisements. In short it is an ideal — Platonic, even.
But back here in reality, things are a little different:
Some might feel cheated if what they received so grossly mismatched their expectations. In the sense that they were victims of false advertising, perhaps they are justified. But for those of us who enjoy the variety the world has to offer, these freaks can be gems.
They may be accidents, they may be defective, but they're certainly more interesting than the boring perfection of our default imaginations.
